Comment: this is my first Roscioli lattice guitar, recommended by a colleague in Paris and another in Sydney. Dominic is an Australian luthier who follows in the footsteps of John Price, Paul Sheridan, and Jim Redgate. With a braceless, moulded back and carbon fibre reinforced lattice bracing, this heavy beauty has a natural sustain and a bold, wet intonation. These lattice builders get a crystalline treble response and a deep bass to balance it off; my primary impression is of a direct projection in a fairly tight dynamic range, if compared to a double top, which is warmer and breathy. Double tops can be muddy but never a guitar like this. The effect is a piercing output. I hesitate to say bell like because that isn’t quite it. Hopefully the samples will display what the gist of it is.
