2023 Aboutalebian double top
Woods: figured Indian rosewood back and sides and stained cedar double top with balsa core. Spanish cedar neck. French polish shellac throughout.
Specs: 650mm scale, 53mm nut, 44mm string spacing at nut, 58mm at saddle. 4mm bass string height at 12th fret. Raised fingerboard, twelve hole tieblock, blue Xtreme case. Gotoh tuners.
Condition: excellent. There is a scratch on the back and a small nail mark on the top. The rosette has a couple of rough sections that are original to the luthier’s workmanship.
Comment: this guitar has been consigned by a collector who reluctantly parts with it because, as Philipe states in his video about #51, Saeid Aboutalebian is a luthier to watch, as his entry on the guitar scene is very impressive and his pricing is about to go up substantially. I concur with my colleague in Paris, as the guitar is very powerful, forward, with equally strong trebles and basses. A guitar with this amount of energy is catnip for any player that likes to push an instrument and it makes all of us better players than we thought.
